Britain's cold snap is going to bring more freezing conditions and wintry showers tonight as temperatures continue to plummet.
Tonight will bring hard frost and freezing fog in some places with a chance of snow developing on higher ground further north.
Mild air from the Atlantic will push thermometers to around 12C in the south with even Scotland and the north enjoying spring-like weather .
The cheery forecast comes after Britain shivered in the coldest night of winter on Monday after the mercury plunged to -12.4C in Kinbrace, in the Scottish Highlands.
Much of the country shivered in lows of around -5C as experts say the weather is about to make a dramatic u-turn to milder conditions.
However it will be a slow transition as forecasters warn the bitter cold will hold out until the end of the week.
